The World of Algae

The world of algae is multifarious and mysterious. Scientists at the department of Biochemistry in Koethen study the plant and try to find out new expertise for medicine and biotechnology. In cooperation with the Department of Design in Dessau several design students worked on the algae topic. I made three posters about taxonomy, ingredients, utilization and occurrence of algae. For the visual language of information graphics I developed a modular system consisting of triangles and rhombuses that refers to shapes of microalgae, chemical notations and cell structures.
